In short, the journalists turned to the most famous online crypto outlets on behalf of a Russian PR agent. He asked to publish a positive review of advertising on the new project, which holds the ICO. Naturally, a certain amount of money was offered as a reward. It may seem like a normal practice. However, the main condition for the publication was the absence of “Sponsored” mark. This means that readers should not find out that the material has been paid for and published as an advertisement.
Breakermag journalists published their correspondences with representatives of various Internet resources. Those who were ready to deceive their readers were not even interested in whether the project was legitimate and whether it was not a threat to users.
Below you can see a list of sites that are ready to publish advertisement materials under the guise of real research.
As you can see, the diagram even shows prices quoted for publishing sponsoring content outside of the “sponsored” category. However, the publication did not provide data on reliable publishers (those who refused the offer).
This is sad information. After all, many people can become a victim of fraudsters. This is not helping popularizing blockchain technology and cryptocurrency.
The preparation of surveys and studies is painstaking and difficult work. It must be paid for. But publishing advertising outside of the sponsored category is unacceptable.
