On April 17, 2019, Wirecard, one of leading companies in digital financial technology, issued a press release announcing a partnership with Telegram (more precisely, with TON Labs). Collaboration should bring innovation to the field of private financial relations.
It is planned to develop a new generation of payment technology, provide banking and other financial services within the Telegram Open Network platform.
“We are excited to be partnering with TON Labs. Their immense experience in highly scalable technology and decentralized solutions as well as the strong global growth of Telegram messenger will be instrumental for the success of our joint program,” said Georg von Waldenfels, Executive Vice President, Group Business Development at Wirecard.
This is truly a landmark partnership, because it indicates that TON Labs plans go far beyond the usual blockchain platform. It seems that the delay in the launch is caused by the project’s immensity, which should radically change the structure of the market.
